This past August we went to New Orleans for vacation and we greatly enjoyed all of the sights and sounds that are unique to this city that is full of life. My nephew lives in New Orleans and he graciously showed us around his adopted city. There are many streets where people collect to hear the bands and party with their fellow revelers. This painting is of an alley way just off the main street. The alley invites you to meander down the street to join in on the hustle and bustle at the end of the road. Although I haven’t done many night scenes, I do enjoy creating the lights that allow us to see the sights and the path for us to walk. The lights in the painting also make sense of the shadows seen on the walls. The only thing that improved the painting was the addition of a frame and giving the painting to my nephew as a gift.
